The Titusville Environmental Commission (TEC) met on May 13, 2026. A key discussion involved the Urban Forestry Management Plan. The TEC voted to recommend to City Council the establishment of a dedicated line item from the Landscape Trust Fund, using 2 percent per capita, to fund the implementation of the Urban Forestry Management Plan. This funding would include hiring an Urban Forester and tree plantings. The initial motion failed, but a subsequent motion to recommend to City Council to establish this budget line item passed. The TEC also discussed stormwater master plan updates, tree removal requirements, and wetland conservation. A motion to table the wetland conservation item for further discussion passed. The commission also discussed the importance of monitoring and measuring impacts from launches in Titusville and recommended City Council look into this.
