The City of West Melbourne is planning a new Water Treatment Plant. This facility will use reverse osmosis technology. The plant is scheduled to be fully operational by October 31, 2026, with water sales to the community beginning January 1, 2027. A 1,000-kw generator has been purchased to ensure continuous operation during storms. An interconnect agreement with Palm Bay and Melbourne is also part of the plan. This project will involve site preparation, construction of the treatment plant, installation of water distribution infrastructure, and related utility work. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to engage early to understand the project's scope and potential involvement as plans develop.
