The Lakes & Waterways Board is reviewing updates on several lakes within the City of Winter Park. Hydrilla and water hyacinth have been treated in Lake Killarney and Lake Maitland. Upcoming treatments for hydrilla are planned for Lake Sue and Lake Berry, and crested floating heart treatment is upcoming for Lake Virginia and Lake Osceola. Seawall cap repairs are complete on Genius Canal and are currently underway on Venetian Canal, with weekday closures in effect. Water quality samples were presented, and volunteers have planted the shoreline of Lake Spier. This ongoing management and repair work involves site preparation, aquatic vegetation control, and seawall maintenance.
