Collier County is considering changes to land use and zoning for several properties. Item 9.A proposes changing the land use designation for 2.63 acres north of Piper Boulevard, west of Palm River Boulevard, to allow a hotel or motel with up to 76 rooms. Item 9.B proposes rezoning the same 2.63-acre property from residential to a Commercial Planned Unit Development (CPUD) to permit a hotel or motel of up to 76 rooms. Item 9.E proposes rezoning 71.46 acres south of Holly Avenue, west of Bayshore Drive, from residential and agricultural to a Residential Planned Unit Development (RPUD) to allow up to 90 single-family homes. Item 9.G proposes changing the land use for 5.01 acres north of State Road 82, west of Church Road, to allow up to 100,000 square feet of self-storage and 30,000 square feet of commercial use, or 60,000 square feet of commercial use. Item 9.H proposes rezoning this same 5.01-acre property to a Commercial Planned Unit Development (CPUD) to allow either 60,000 square feet of retail commercial or 30,000 square feet of retail commercial and 100,000 square feet of self-storage. These items are currently under review. If approved, these projects could involve site preparation, grading, utility work, paving, building construction, and landscaping. Local contractors, trades, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to monitor these proposals as they move through the review process, as early engagement before final site plans and permits are issued can provide a competitive advantage.
