The DeSoto County Economic Development Advisory Committee met to discuss future local development. Several new projects are under review, including a commercial development near Highway 51 and Church Road, and another commercial development at Highway 51 and Craft Road. These projects could create future opportunities for land clearing, utility work, concrete, paving, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and landscaping services, as well as for civil engineers, surveyors, and building material suppliers. The committee also discussed the Economic Development element for the DeSoto 2050 Comprehensive Plan.
