The DeSoto County Special Masters met to review several upcoming projects. Several new housing developments are planned, including 10 single-family homes on 5 acres at 123 Main Street, a single-family home on 0.62 acres for the Angel M. Morales Estate, 120 single-family homes on 40 acres at US 17 and County Road 662, 4 single-family units on 1.5 acres at County Road 64 and County Road 760, 150 dwelling units on 10 acres at US 17 and County Road 662, a single-family home at 123 Oak Street, and a single-family home on 1.03 acres at 1234 Mockingbird Lane. A self-storage facility is also proposed for a 12.5-acre property. Commercial developments are planned for a 10-acre site at US 17 and County Road 662 and a 1.5-acre site on Brevard Avenue. These projects could create opportunities for land clearing, grading, civil engineering, surveying, utility work, concrete, paving, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, and building material supply.
