Jackson County is reviewing plans for a new museum and park experience at the former Dozier School site. The project aims to create an engaging space for local residents, tourists, and school groups, with a focus on sensory-friendly and inclusive design for neurodivergent visitors. Plans include a Children's Discovery Center, immersive exhibits, and an outdoor interpretive trail system connecting various historical sites within Endeavor Park. The project also proposes a café in the former school cafeteria and public restrooms accessible from outside the museum. This initiative is currently under review, representing an early opportunity for local businesses.
