Miami-Dade County, as assignee, accepted an Assignment of Option to Purchase approximately 38.86 acres within the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program Coastal Wetlands Project. The Nature Conservancy acted as assignor, and Masri Blackpoint, LLC was the seller. The purchase price is $971,000.00, funded by Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond funds. The property is located near SW 261 Street and SW 97 Avenue, outside the Urban Development Boundary, and is described as high-quality mangrove wetlands important for endangered species and coastal resilience. This acquisition completes the purchase of privately-held parcels in the Black Point Wetlands. The resolution was adopted on June 2, 2026.
