Miami-Dade County adopted a resolution directing the County Mayor or designee to conduct neighborhood planning exercises for the Horse Country area, generally bounded by SW Bird Road to Sunset Drive and from the Florida Turnpike to SW 127 Avenue. These exercises, including publicized community meetings, will gather input on the area's agricultural, equestrian, architectural, and aesthetic character, and explore the potential development of a community-specific thematic zoning district. The goal is to preserve the area's unique character amidst development pressures. A report with findings and recommendations is required within one year of the resolution's effective date. The first community meeting must occur within 90 days of the effective date.
