EMERGENCY PUSH AND CLEAR

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-485-26 on June 2, 2026, authorizing a three-year extension for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00867, which provides Emergency Push & Clear and Debris Removal Services for multiple county departments. This extension is time-only and does not request additional expenditure authority. The pool supports services such as pushing, clearing, and hauling vegetative debris, removal of stumps, and removal of hazardous leaning trees and hanging limbs from roadways, bridges, rights-of-way, transit corridors, parks, and park waterways during declared emergencies. The original pool was established on November 8, 2018, with an initial allocation of $330,000,000. The current cumulative allocation remains $330,500,000, with an expiration date now set for November 30, 2029. Contract awards under the pool exceeding $5,000,000, or $1,500,000 for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, require ratification by the Board. The pool currently has 12 active vendors, nine with local addresses. Due diligence was performed on all vendors, with two vendors (T.F.R. Enterprises, Inc. and Thomas Maintenance Services, Inc.) noted as having ongoing litigation, and two (T.F.R. Enterprises, Inc. and Weed-A-Way, Inc.) having prior resolved litigation histories. No issues were identified that adversely impacted the County's pool or vendor responsibility.
