EMERGENCY PUSH AND CLEAR

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing a three-year extension for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-00867, which provides Emergency Push & Clear and Debris Removal Services for multiple county departments. This extension is time-only and does not request additional expenditure authority. The pool is used on an as-needed basis during declared emergencies for services such as pushing, clearing, and hauling vegetative debris, removal and disposal of stumps, and removal of hazardous leaning trees and hanging limbs. The extension aims to maintain efficiency and reduce administrative work for both vendors and the County. The pool was originally established on November 8, 2018, with an initial allocation of $330,000,000 for an eight-year term. Currently, there are 12 active prequalified vendors, nine with local addresses. Contract awards under the pool exceeding $5,000,000, or $1,500,000 for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, require ratification by the Board. Due diligence was performed on vendors, with two vendors (T.F.R. Enterprises, Inc. and Thomas Maintenance Services, Inc.) noted as having ongoing litigation, and T.F.R. Enterprises, Inc. and Weed-A-Way, Inc. having prior resolved litigation histories, none of which adversely impacted the County's pool.
