Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the execution of a Fiscal Year 2025-26 contract with the State of Florida Department of Health (DOH) for public health services. The contract is for $1,133,000.00 and is effective retroactively from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. The purpose is to meet public health needs of Miami-Dade County citizens, including environmental health services, disease control, and care for special populations. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to execute the agreement and future agreements for additional funds. The total program cost is $87,580,952, with $51,015,587 from the State and $36,565,365 in local contributions. The County's cash contribution of $1,133,000 is provided by Jackson Health System. The DOH is responsible for facility maintenance, repairs, improvements, utilities, janitorial services, and compliance with regulations including ADA. The agreement can be terminated by either party with notice. The Board of County Commissioners deferred the item on March 3, 2026, and it was forwarded with a favorable recommendation by the Safety and Health Committee on February 2, 2026.
