INCREASING SECURITY GUARD

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance approving and ratifying non-ad valorem assessment rolls, rates, and assessments for 20 certain security guard special taxing districts for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2027. The total assessment for these 20 districts is $10,490,955. These assessments are necessary to fund security guard services, including contractual increases from private security companies and off-duty police, to maintain the required level of service. The assessments are levied on properties within the affected districts and will be collected on the 2026 real property tax bills, with failure to pay resulting in delinquency and potential loss of title. Exhibit A, referenced in the ordinance, contains the legal descriptions of the areas, units of measurement, and assessment amounts for each district, but is not included in this document.
