Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · ordinance

Miami-Dade County Ordinance File Number 260868 amends Sections 31-102 and 31-107 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida, revising vehicle age requirements for passenger motor carrier vehicles (PMCs). The ordinance allows PMCs providing circulator or fixed route services to operate until they reach the earlier of 20 model years of age or 350,000 miles, a change from the previous limits of 10 model years generally and 15 model years for circulator/fixed route services. This change was prompted by a resolution from the City of Coral Gables. The ordinance was adopted on first reading by the Board of County Commissioners on June 2, 2026, and was amended and favorably recommended by the Transportation Committee on July 14, 2026. It is scheduled to become effective ten days after enactment.
