Miami-Dade County Ordinance File Number 260868 amends Sections 31-102 and 31-107 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida, to revise vehicle age requirements for passenger motor carrier vehicles (PMCs). Specifically, vehicles used for circulator or fixed route services may now operate until they reach the earlier of 20 model years of age or 350,000 miles of usage, provided they remain in compliance with all applicable County inspection requirements and vehicle standards. This change was prompted by a resolution from the City of Coral Gables urging the County to allow PMCs providing circulator or fixed route services to operate up to 20 model years or 350,000 miles. The ordinance was adopted on first reading by the Board of County Commissioners on June 2, 2026, and was forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation by the Transportation Committee on July 14, 2026, with amendments. The ordinance is effective ten days after enactment.
