ROUNDS TRACKING SOLUTION

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-491-26, approving the award of Contract No. EVN0013523 to CODEX Corp. for a Rounds, Inmate, and Detainee Tracking Management Solution. The contract is valued at $7,000,000.00 for an initial five-year term with one, five-year option to renew. This solution will be implemented countywide for the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department (MDCR) to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety by enabling real-time tracking of inmates and detainees, replacing paper-based processes. Commissioner Milian Orbis inquired about current tracking methods and facility implementation. Mr. Christopher Moreno, Chief of Public Safety, explained that two systems are integrated for inmate welfare and safety checks via a tablet-based platform, which will also provide head counts and eliminate paper logs. The new system will be deployed at all four existing correctional facilities and any future ones. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded the item with a favorable recommendation. CODEX Corp. was selected as the highest-ranked proposer, and no local firms met the experience and expertise requirements.
