Miami-Dade County Ordinance 260593 establishes Section 33-39.5 of the County Code, allowing for the administrative acceptance and approval of covenants related to the Live Local Act for proposed developments within Transit-Oriented Developments (TOD) or designated areas. This ordinance streamlines the process for developers to agree on development parameters such as height, density, floor area ratio, and parking, which may differ from standard regulations, provided at least 40 percent of residential units are affordable for 30 years. The ordinance was amended and forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation by the Transportation Committee after a public hearing where no one appeared to speak. The BCC adopted the ordinance on first reading and later amended it.
