Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners deferred a resolution authorizing the acceptance of a 1.07-acre parcel for conservation purposes. The parcel, owned by VC Station, LLC, is located along Harriet Tubman Highway and SW 278 Street and is identified by Folio Nos. 30-6933-000-0680 and 30-6933-000-0700. The land is a pine rockland preservation area, previously part of an approved mixed-use affordable housing development (Administrative Site Plan Review A202300078). The developer agreed to preserve and donate this portion for conservation. The County anticipates an annual maintenance cost of $5,000 to $10,000, to be funded by Tree Trust Funds. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee had previously forwarded the resolution with a favorable recommendation. Vice-Chairman Kionne L. McGhee requested the deferral to no date certain.
