SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED - PINE ROCKLAND PRESERVATION AREA

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners deferred a resolution authorizing the acceptance of a 1.07-acre parcel for conservation purposes. The parcel, located along Harriet Tubman Highway and SW 278 Street, is being conveyed by VC Station, LLC, via a Special Warranty Deed. The property, identified by Folio Nos. 30-6933-000-0680 and 30-6933-000-0700, is a pine rockland preservation area. The deferral was requested by Vice-Chairman Kionne L. McGhee. Previously, the Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded the resolution with a favorable recommendation. The land was part of a mixed-use affordable housing development approved under Administrative Site Plan Review A202300078, with the developer agreeing to donate the preservation area to the County. Minor soil and groundwater impacts were identified near the boundary but are being addressed by the owner and deemed suitable for conservation by DERM. The County anticipates annual maintenance costs between $5,000 to $10,000, funded by Tree Trust Funds.
