Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance creating the Palm Bay South Multipurpose Maintenance Special Taxing District. This district is established to provide maintenance for landscaped swales, medians, common areas, entrance features, wetlands, lakes, and the exterior of fencing or walls, including turf, trees, shrubs, and irrigation, and utility payments, if any association or community development district fails to do so. It will also maintain private roads if an easement is granted to the County and maintenance fails. Services will commence upon failure of existing entities to provide maintenance and adoption of the assessment roll. The estimated cost for the first year is $51,606.50 ($1.8891 per assessable square foot), and $37,853.11 ($1.3856 per assessable square foot) for the second year. The developer, Palm Bay South, LLC, is responsible for the first year's administrative costs of $8,743.50. The district is located within Commission District 9.
