Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted the 2026 Transit Development Plan (TDP) Major Update, covering the 10-year period from FY 2026 through FY 2035. This plan, branded as MDT10Ahead, is a requirement for transit agencies receiving state funds and serves as a strategic guide for transit needs, infrastructure, financial framework, land use integration, and future demand. The update includes eight chapters detailing the plan's components, public involvement process, coordination with other plans, operating environment, land use relationship, demand estimation, and a 10-year implementation and financial plan. Public outreach included surveys, pop-up events, social media, analysis of 311 calls, and an Advisory Review Committee. The plan forecasts ridership growth outpacing population growth, particularly among choice riders, with development of premium transit corridors. Adoption is a prerequisite for State Public Transit Block Grant funds.
