LANDFILL GAS CONVERSION

The Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to reject all proposals received under RFP No. EVN0019329 for the Development of Landfill Gas Conversion Project. The project was to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) system at the South Dade Landfill and North Dade Landfill. All five proposals were deemed non-responsive by the County Attorney's Office. The resolution was amended at the Policy Council meeting on 7/13/2026, and the amended version is in Legislative File No. 261339. The new solicitation will likely be for the South Dade Landfill site only, as proposals indicated the North Dade Landfill is not viable. The cost to the developer to design and build each facility was estimated to be over $30,000,000. The resolution was introduced on 3/23/2026 and is pending BCC assignment.
