Resolution retroactively approving and authorizing the County Mayor or designee's application, receipt, and expenditure of grant funds of up to $7,736,674.00 from the United States Department of War's Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation through its Defense Community Infrastructure Program (DCIP) to Miami-Dade County, through the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department, for the construction of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Station 77 in close proximity to the Homestead Air Reserve Base. The resolution also authorizes the use of up to $5,018,217.00 in Fire District funds to satisfy the local cash match funding requirements. The installation population includes approximately 1,200 Reserve members, more than 250 Active Guard and Reserve staff, roughly 800 civilian and contractor personnel on site daily, and an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 military family members residing in nearby neighborhoods.
