Resolution retroactively approving and authorizing Miami-Dade County, through the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department (MDFR), to apply for, receive, and expend up to $3,405,936.00 in grant funds from the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program for the implementation of the Whole Blood Initiative. The initiative is countywide, covering a service area of 1,907 square miles, and will acquire, equip, and deploy 7 whole blood transport vehicles, 1 program coordinator vehicle, and 2 air rescue helicopters with low-titer O negative whole blood (LTOWB) or other compatible products.
