The City of Palatka Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is providing an update on the Downtown Streetscape Project. Construction is resuming, with work currently focused on the north side of 6th Street. The next phase will move to the south side of 6th Street, with an anticipated start in approximately four weeks. This project involves active construction zones, temporary parking and access adjustments, and potential travel lane closures. The CRA is also implementing portable solar-powered message boards to communicate construction updates and traffic impacts. This project is currently under review and moving into new phases. The scope of work will involve site clearing, grading, concrete work, utility adjustments, and paving, followed by finish trades and landscaping. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers in site prep, grading, concrete, paving, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and landscaping could find opportunities. Reaching out to the CRA early can provide an advantage before final bid packages and permits are issued.
