Pasco County MPO is developing a comprehensive Freight Plan over the next two years, from July 2026 to June 2028. This plan aims to update the countywide freight planning framework by reassessing current and future freight needs, issues, and opportunities. It will include refining recommendations for freight-related projects and updating policies to support economic development through efficient goods movement. The project also involves enhancing the link between freight transportation and land use planning. This planning effort will involve outreach to the freight community and meetings with freight providers and economic development groups. The MPO is working with the Florida Department of Transportation and Pasco County on this initiative. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers in areas such as engineering, planning, and consulting could find opportunities by engaging early in this process before specific project bids and contracts are finalized.
