C. Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning

The Pasco County MPO is planning to develop and improve bicycle and pedestrian facilities. This effort includes finalizing an Active Transportation Plan and conducting non-motorized counts. The plan aims to enhance user safety, evaluate trail crossings, coordinate regional projects, and address hazardous walking conditions near schools and high-crash areas. Work will also involve developing educational programs, creating a bike map, and studying areas with mobility limitations. A pilot study will document non-motorized infrastructure and safety near middle schools. These activities are planned from July 2026 through June 2028, with some tasks extending through September 2028 and ongoing through FY 2028. This project will involve planning, data collection, and program development. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers in areas like engineering, planning, data analysis, and potentially construction support services could find opportunities. Reaching out early before final plans and permits are set may offer a competitive advantage.
