The Aviation Advisory Committee (AAC) met on February 18th, 2026. Key project updates included the East Hangar project, which is considering reducing the number of planned hangars from 22 units (two sets of 11) to 4-5 units and investigating fabric construction to reduce costs. The AWOS Replacement project has 30% design completed, with a 95% plan set anticipated soon, and the existing system should not receive further investment. The West Apron Rehab project is in the design phase for concrete replacement, with 95% design presented. An obstruction removal (tree clearing) project is pending property owner permission and FDOT direction. Future FDOT matches for hangar construction may drop from 80/20 to 50/50. Covered parking is being considered as an alternative to enclosed hangars. Airfield markings project is tentatively scheduled for April.
