The St. Lucie County Historical Commission is considering a request to rename the Port St. Lucie Library, currently under reconstruction, to "Ravenswood Library". The proposed name is based on the well-established geographic identifier "Ravenswood" for the surrounding neighborhood, which is also associated with Ravenswood Lane, Ravenswood Pool, and Ravenswood Park. The goal is to strengthen the facility's connection to the neighborhood, preserve a recognized place name, and create a distinct community identity. Staff recommends the Historical Commission evaluate the request according to the St. Lucie County Public Facilities Naming Policy and consider a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners. The meeting is scheduled for July 7, 2026.
