[215 Gloria Rowe Hayward Way, Board Meeting Room, Sumterville, FL 33585] The Board of Sumter County Commissioners will conduct public hearings on July 28, 2026, at 6:00 PM. The first hearing concerns the provision of fire protection services and the approval of non-ad valorem assessments based on an Accenture Study dated May 2026. The second hearing is to consider adopting an ordinance to levy and impose a tourism development tax, subject to a referendum on November 3, 2026. The agenda also includes various reports, financial matters, contract agreements, and appointments to several boards. Notably, an extension to a contract with Hydromax USA, LLC for hydrant testing and maintenance is listed for approval, as is an amendment to a CAD and support services agreement with Mission Critical NetPulse. The Board will also consider renaming the Joint Fire Training Facility and a request for temporary road closure and assistance for the 2026 Bushnell Fall Festival Parade. The Board of Sumter County Commissioners is considering a request for temporary road closure and public works assistance for the 2026 Bushnell Fall Festival Parade. Staff recommends approval. The agenda also includes a request to execute a satisfaction of mortgage under the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program, with staff recommending approval. Additionally, a request to approve amendments to the Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) for State FY 2025/2026, 2026/2027, and 2027/2028 under the SHIP Program is also recommended for approval by staff.
