The Board of County Commissioners is reviewing a new methodology for calculating demand and availability rates for water and sewer services. This proposal aims to establish a standard for residential dwelling units, defining an "Equated Dwelling Unit" or EDU at 1,698 square feet. Non-residential structures would be assigned EBUs based on their building square footage divided by this EDU value. Vacant land would not be charged for availability. This item is currently under review by the Board of County Commissioners. The proposed changes could lead to new construction projects and infrastructure upgrades, potentially involving site clearing, grading, utility work, and construction of new residential and commercial buildings.
