[1395 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, Florida] The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting on January 20, 2026, included updates on several bond projects. Willow Run and City Center expansion are 90% designed, awaiting electrical additions. White Place Park is approximately 20% designed. Depot Park design is underway. Coraci renovations are in progress, with Coraci North pending purchase approval. City Center fields are ready to bid but will be delayed until the end of the season. A new pavilion adjacent to the City Center playground is under construction. The Causeway dock is closed for renovations. New ADA-accessible restrooms are being installed at the All-Children's Park. Lighting has been added to the south field at City Center. A nine-hole disc golf course is planned for Bushman Park, to be completed in-house starting in early February. Memorial Park boardwalks and lighting have been replaced, with sidewalk repouring underway. The Board recommended Lakeside for renaming in honor of former Mayor Allen Green. The return of the Gamble Place property (145 acres) to the City of Port Orange was announced, with Parks and Recreation managing approximately nine acres for public use, including walking areas, kayaking, and fishing. Additional uses like trails, disc golf, events, and rentals are being considered. Residential development is not permitted. Rec Center West project, including architect selection, is scheduled to go before Council in February and will be delivered as a design/build contract. Baseball and softball registration is ending, with Opening Day on March 7, 2026, at Coraci Park. Soccer registration is in February, with senior games starting in March. America 250 events are planned, including a hometown heroes banner program and Fourth of July celebration activities.
