The City Commission of Coral Gables met to discuss various civic matters and upcoming projects. Several potential local business opportunities were reviewed. - A Resolution of the City Commission accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Bridges Repairs and Rehabilitation contract in the estimated amount of $803,378.00 to P and P Contracting, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, pursuant to Invitation for Bids (IFB) 2025-046 and Section 2-763 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award.”
- A Resolution of the City Commission accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to extend the pre-qualified pool of Professional Tennis Instructors previously awarded for Professional Tennis Services, Request to Qualify (RTQ) 2020-010, pursuant to section 2-764 of the City’s Procurement Code entitled “Approval of Change Orders and Contract Modifications”. Further authorizing the ability to award contracts, and to add qualified tennis and pickleball instructors to the pre-qualified pool when deemed in the City’s best interest without further City Commission action.
- A Resolution of the City Commission accepting the recommendation of the Police Department to authorize the purchase of a shallow-water vessel from Prodigy Boats as a Sole-Source Procurement, in an estimated amount of $87,459.94, pursuant to Section 2-689 of the City Code.
- A Resolution of the City Commission accepting the recommendation to waive the Competitive Bid Process of the Procurement Code and contract with Gavarrete, Inc. for the roof and tower repairs at Coral Gables Country Club, in an estimated amount of $174,933 or not to exceed the available budget, Pursuant to Section 2-691 of the Procurement Code, titled “Special Procurements/Bid Waiver.”
- A Resolution of the City Commission amending Resolution No. 2022-170 as Amended, which approved a Mixed Use Site Plan for the property known as "Regency Parc" and legally described as Lots 1-12 and Lots 35-46, including the public alleyway lying in between, Block 10 and Lots 1-4, Block 15, Coral Gables Crafts Section (290, 272, 250, 244 Valencia Avenue, 247, 297 Almeria Avenue, and 2701 Salzedo Street), Coral Gables, Florida, to allow for the issuance of a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy Prior to completion and conveyance of the Public Park to the City, subject to the terms and conditions of a Performance Bond or Letter of Credit Agreement, as approved by the City Manager and City Attorney.
- A Resolution of the City Commission amending Resolution No. 2024-59 which approved a site plan for a proposed Publix Grocery Store and Liquor Store on the property legally described as Lots 1 Through 48, Block 8, Coral Gables Crafts Section (2551 Le Jeune Rd), Coral Gables, Florida to modify certain conditions of approval due to revisions necessitated by flood zone requirements; to modify timing of completion for conditions relating to certain offsite traffic improvements and bicycle lanes; and to modify condition requiring conveyance of Salzedo Park to address development rights.
- A Resolution of the City Commission amending the Community Recreation Fee Schedule to provide for a Coral Gables Resident Senior Discount at Granada Golf Course.
- A Resolution of the City Commission amending the Community Recreation Fee Schedule to provide for a one-year Transition and Evaluation Program allowing the continuation of Annual Golf Memberships at the Granada Golf Course in place as of March 10, 2026; providing for updated rates; and providing for reporting of data at the conclusion of the one-year period.
- A Resolution of the City Commission approving a lease between the City of Coral Gables as Tenant and The Gonzalez 2020, LLC as Landlord, regarding the property located at 2020 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, Suite 1007, Coral Gables, Florida for a period of three (3) years for the purpose of relocating numerous members of the Public Works’ Project Management Department.
- A Resolution of the City Commission authorizing the acceptance and execution of the Fiscal Year quarter 2026-2027 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) County Grant #C1013 Letter of Understanding and Agreement from the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners and the State of Florida Department of Health in the amount of $627.31.
- A Resolution of the City Commission authorizing the acceptance of Modification No. 2 to Grant Agreement No. 4337-330-A with the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) for the improvement of the existing sanitary sewer collection system project known as City 2, providing for an extension to the grant agreement and a budget increase; authorizing an Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget in the amount of $392,307 to recognize the budget increase as revenue; and authorizing the City Manager to execute said modification.
- A Resolution of the City Commission authorizing the execution of an agreement for sewer connection for property located outside the City’s sewer district at 1155 Blue Road, Coral Gables, Florida into the City of Coral Gables wastewater collection / transmission system, subject to the requirements of the Public Works Department, as provided under Chapters 62 and 78 of the City Code, Ordinance Nos. 2007-29 and 2009-39 and Resolution No. 2008-07; and provided that the executed agreement be made part of this Resolution.
- A Resolution of the City Commission authorizing the renewal of the Property and Casualty Insurance Program which includes, but is not limited to, Property, General Liability, Automobile Liability, Public Officials Errors & Omissions, Excess Workers' Compensation, Crime Liability, Special Risk, Terrorism Property & Liability, Pollution Liability, Deadly Weapon Protection Coverage, Flood, as well as other ancillary lines of insurance coverage and insurance broker fees through Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., in the amount of $2,877,099 for the policy period of May 1, 2026 to May 1, 2027. (Funding Source: Insurance Fund)
