Miami-Dade County is seeking to authorize an additional expenditure of $12,879,707.00 for Prequalification Pool No. EVN0000187, which provides dewatering and tank cleaning services for the Water and Sewer Department (WASD). This brings the total modified cumulative pool amount to $18,896,707.00. The services are critical for maintaining water and wastewater treatment plant structures, tanks, clarifiers, containment units, and pipelines, ensuring operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection. The increased need is attributed to enhanced preventative maintenance, emergency repairs for aging infrastructure, increased system demand, and regulatory compliance requirements, including cleaning of contact basins at Alexander Orr, Hialeah, and Preston Water Treatment Plants. The pool was initially established on October 3, 2023, and modified on June 24, 2025, with a five-year term. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with a favorable recommendation on July 15, 2026. The BCC agenda date is September 1, 2026.
