Miami-Dade County's Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee is considering a resolution to authorize an additional expenditure of $12,879,707.00 for Prequalification Pool No. EVN0000187, which provides dewatering and tank cleaning services for the Water and Sewer Department (WASD). This would bring the total modified cumulative pool amount to $18,896,707.00. The additional funds are needed to cover increased utilization of the pool for essential maintenance, emergency repairs, and regulatory compliance at water and wastewater treatment facilities, including specific cleaning of contact basins at Alexander Orr, Hialeah, and Preston Water Treatment Plants. A past incident at the Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant involving a temporary dewatering system cost over $2 million. Any contract award under this pool exceeding $5,000,000.00 requires ratification by the Board. The pool was initially established on October 3, 2023, and is set to expire on November 30, 2028. Prequalified vendors include Envirowaste Services Group, Inc., Flotech Environmental, LLC, Merrell Bros., Inc., Synagro South, LLC, and U.S. Submergent Technologies, LLC.
