Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to authorize additional expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. EVN0000187, Dewatering and Tank Cleaning Services, for the Water and Sewer Department (WASD). The request is for an additional $12,879,707.00, bringing the total modified cumulative pool amount to $18,896,707.00. This funding is needed to continue essential services for water and wastewater treatment plant maintenance, including tank cleaning, sludge removal, and dewatering, which are critical for operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection. The increased utilization is attributed to enhanced preventative maintenance efforts and emergency repairs, such as a temporary dewatering system installed at the North District Wastewater Treatment Plant. The pool was initially established on October 3, 2023, and modified on June 24, 2026. The Infrastructure, Innovation & Technology Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation on July 15, 2026. The pool expires on November 30, 2028. Prequalified vendors include Envirowaste Services Group, Inc., Flotech Environmental, LLC, Merrell Bros., Inc., Synagro South, LLC, and U.S. Submergent Technologies, LLC.
