Resolution adopted on 7/21/2026 authorizing amended and restated County deeds to Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc., permitting conveyance of three County-owned properties to affiliate Javon Gardens LLC, and granting a two-year extension to July 29, 2028, to obtain final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units for very low-, low-, or moderate-income households. The properties were originally conveyed under Resolution R-440-19 for single-family homes under the Infill Housing Program, then allowed for multi-family rental units under R-124-24. The extension under R-124-24 expires July 29, 2026. Building Better Communities cited uncontrollable delays including completion of surveys and inability to secure financing on its own as justification. The Board desires to grant the extension and permit the transfer due to the County's extreme need for affordable rental housing. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to take all actions necessary, including exercising the County's reversionary interest after due diligence, title searches, and environmental reviews. Signage identifying the County's name and the district commissioner's name must be placed on the properties.
