Resolution approving the First Amendment to a Land Exchange Agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The amendment removes the closing condition requiring the Public Health Trust to complete certain environmental remediation and obtain a No Further Action Letter, modifies the environmental remediation provision, modifies the closing date definition, defines the effective date of the First Amendment, and provides for post-closing cooperation on information exchange. The College conveys 48,102 square feet (College Parcel, portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010) to the County for use by the Public Health Trust for parking to support the new Emergency Department at Jackson Memorial Medical Center. The County conveys 48,456 square feet (County Parcel, portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010) to the College. Adopted on 7/21/2026. The original item was under File No. 261262. A scrivener's error was corrected to change the College Parcel street address to 1000 Northwest 20th Street, Miami. Public comment: Commissioner Hardemon noted the scrivener's error and moved to approve with the correction. Chairman Gonzalez asked for an update on five acres at Homestead Air Force Base; Mr. Palmer advised no update, the County still held the property, was seeking funds to develop the fire side, and was aware MDSO sought approximately five acres for a K-9 Training Center. Chairman Gonzalez requested a meeting with the administration.
