AMENDMENT TO LAND EXCHANGE AGREEMENT

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution approving the First Amendment to a Land Exchange Agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The amendment modifies the original agreement concerning the exchange of two parcels of land. The County will convey 48,456 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010, located at 1851 NW 9th Avenue, Miami) to the College, in exchange for 48,102 square feet (portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010, located at 1000 NW 20th Street, Miami) owned by the College. This exchange is required for the Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County to use the College parcel for parking to support its Emergency Department Expansion Project at Jackson Memorial Medical Center. The amendment removes the closing condition requiring the Public Health Trust to obtain a No Further Action Letter from DERM for environmental remediation, modifies environmental remediation provisions, adjusts the closing date definition, and establishes post-closing cooperation for information exchange. The original agreement was approved on December 3, 2024, and became effective January 6, 2025.
