The Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-646-26, ratifying Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. S-930B between Miami-Dade County and Daniel O'Connell's Sons, Inc. for the ST-2D-B South District Wastewater Treatment Plant (SDWWTP) Substations 5/6 and 15/16 project. The contract was awarded on March 1, 2022, ratified by the Board on May 17, 2022 via Resolution No. R-491-22, for a total contract award of $21,805,340.00. The Notice to Proceed was issued on May 2, 2022. The project is located at WASD's SDWWTP in Commission District 8. The delays were due to electrical equipment fabrication and delivery delays (415-calendar days) and low voltage wire pulls delay (207-calendar days) related to required shutdowns of Headworks Building No. 1. The contract was awarded with an 11.85 percent Small Business Enterprise (SBE) - Construction goal and a one percent SBE - Goods goal.
