SOUTHEAST FL REGIONAL CLIMATE COMPACT ILA

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-07-21 · resolution

Miami-Dade County is approving an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) for the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact. This agreement involves Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties. Miami-Dade County will contribute $95,000 annually for three years (totaling $285,000) for services provided by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC). Broward County will retain and supervise the ISC on behalf of all four counties. The agreement covers fiscal years 2027-2029. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded this item with a favorable recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The BCC is expected to approve the agreement, authorizing the County Mayor or designee to execute it and related amendments. The Chief Resilience Officer and Director of the Department of Environmental Resources Management, Loren Parra, will monitor the agreement. The Compact has facilitated regional projects and secured funding for resilience efforts.
