Miami-Dade County Commissioners are considering approving an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) for the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact. This agreement involves Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties. Miami-Dade County is set to contribute $285,000 over three fiscal years (2027-2029), with $95,000 annually. Broward County will retain and supervise the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) on behalf of all four counties. The ISC provides services for the Compact. The agreement has been previously approved in various forms since 2016. The Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee forwarded this item to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation on June 9, 2026. The Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to take action on July 21, 2026.
