The Pasco MPO is reviewing its safety performance targets for calendar year 2026, aiming to reduce non-motorized fatalities and serious injuries. This review is part of a broader initiative to improve roadway safety across Pasco County. The MPO is collaborating with FDOT District Seven and local partners to identify and implement safety improvements. These efforts may include projects such as sidewalk and multiuse path construction, pedestrian overpasses, traffic control device upgrades, ADA bus stop accessibility improvements, signalized pedestrian crossings, corridor and intersection enhancements, and signing and pavement markings. The MPO's current Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for FY 2027-2031 includes $69.59 million for 20 safety-focused projects. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to engage early with the MPO and FDOT to understand upcoming project scopes and potential opportunities as these safety initiatives move through the planning and programming stages.
